As many of you know, I am currently gestating...
I appreciate all of the love, support, and beautiful comments I've received via social media regarding my pregnancy! For those who don't know, I am a gestational carrier (surrogate) and I'm about 23 weeks pregnant. You can hear about my experience with surrogacy on the podcast interview I did with The Moody Mommies.
Of course the pregnancy hormones tend to give us this Beyonce-esque glow, and many of you have noticed it in my recent posts, but I'm here to tell you that it's not just the pregnancy! This glow has been a long time coming! I'm gestating a new project that is ready to be birthed soon!
Last week I shared a spoken word poem that I wrote as a need to come clean about where this glow is coming from.
Since I shared this post, I've had several people reach out to me asking "how can I get there? How can I have that glow?" And I am so excited to share with you that I am working on a way to share my secret with you! It's not so much a secret as it is a practice I've developed over the last couple of years that has helped me build a relationship with myself like never before. It's more than just getting to know yourself, but truly learning to love on yourself unapologetically. This can be hard for many of us!
I'm finally ready to fully step into my power and claim my medicine as vocal empowerment. For almost 10 years I have helped birthing folks find their voice and use it to advocate for themselves in tense situations. My work is pivoting slightly as I help people of color find their inner voice and build solid relationships with themselves to ignite that glow that comes with self-love and vital self-compassion. It wasn't always this way though. There was a time when...
I didn't know myself
I didn't love myself
I couldn't hear my inner voice over the loud expectations of everyone around me
I was full of shame for feeling things that made me who I am
We tend to believe that having stability in the external parts of lives like our career, our homes, and our relationships are the keys to happiness. Have you ever felt that you've had all of that and it just wasn't good enough? Have you ever felt like you were missing something and maybe even felt guilty for wanting more when you were surrounded by so many blessings?
None of those things matter if the ultimate relationship between us and ourselves is toxic. This is why I feel called to help folks find alignment within themselves by helping them face their truest, most authentic selves, and learn to love that person through self-reflection and self-compassion.
This is hard work y'all, but I'm here for it and I am a living example of what doing this work can do for your life and your loved ones.I am proud to announce that I will be launching an ebook and membership community in the Fall of 2020 for folks who want to join me on this epic GLOW UP!
Sign up below to stay connected and to receive first dibs on all the updates coming your way about this offering starting with the sneak peek that many of you asked for in my Instagram poll last week.
